This library research guide will assist students in creating a business plan for their own business.

Welcome!

Welcome to the Library Guide for MGT 253.  This resource will help guide your in learning how to conduct an industry analysis and a market analysis for your small business concept, but will provide useful skills for you that you can utilize in other courses and projects.

GOAL:

By the end of these assignments you will be able to apply research skills in locating and interpreting sources and information that are beneficial to formulating a strong business plan.

Access to Resources

If you are a currently-enrolled SMCC Student:    

Student computers are located on the 2nd floor next to the information desk and in classroom L235.  These computers are connected to your student print account.   

Public computers are located on the 2nd floor.  If you use a public computer, log in with your MEID as your library card number. Your password will be your six-digit birthday (MMDDYY).  Please note that these computers are not connected to your student printing account and you will be required to pay for printouts.  

If you are a Community Member NOT enrolled at SMCC:  

You must have a current Phoenix Public Library card in order to use a computer.  

There are two Wi-Fi profiles available at SMCL: Guest and Cougar.

Guest Wi-Fi is for general public use.  Select Guest Wi-Fi from your device, then open an Internet browser to accept the user agreement in order to connect.

Cougar Wi-Fi is for currently-enrolled SMCC students, faculty, and staff.  Select Cougar Wi-Fi, log in with your MEID and password, and open an Internet browser.
