Teaching Philosophy:
It is important to me to incorporate and connect students to real world problem solving. I teach using a systems approach to theory and demonstrate the interconnectiveness within disciplines. For me it is important to show students how to use the concepts they learned in a Psychology 101 class and integrate them into writing their English 102 research paper. When I work with students providing information literacy instruction, these same techniques come into play. For me, teaching is about having a conversation, whereby the student is actively engaged and can eventually determine the next step to take within the research and writing process.
