A guide to the resources in the field of children's literature

Finding Children's Literature at your library

This section provides information and access to hard copy and online children's literature available through the South Mountain Community Library.

The South Mountain Community Library is a unique collaboration between South Mountain Community College and Phoenix Public Library, resulting in what's called a "joint use library". We have library materials and staff from both organizations here, which makes for very rich content and services! When it comes to Children's Literature, here's the layout of the land:

1st floor-large collection of both fiction and non-fiction Children's literature as well as a Young Adult section. Search it using the library's catalog. For assistance, come the library's information desk on the 1st floor or reach out for assistance

2nd floor:

  • A collection of Award winning Children's literature including Newberry and Caldecott award winners
  • A collection of reference (non/circulating-i.e. not able to leave the library) children's literature
  • For assistance or questions, contact me, Danielle Cowan by email, (602) 243 8032, come to the 2nd floor information desk at the library, or use our 24/7 chat.
